World Egg Day 2018

World Egg Day is held each year on the second Friday in October, celebrating the vital role eggs play in healthy diets around the world.

Known as nature's multivitamin, eggs are full of nutrients and high-quality protein. They're also affordable for families, making them a healthy choice that won't break the bank. In fact, eggs are so versatile that nearly 17 million eggs are eaten every day in Australia – that's over 6 billion eggs a year.

2018 EGGSELLENCE AWARDS

To celebrate World Egg Day in 2018, Australian Eggs put the call out for people to nominate their favourite eggs dishes as part of the inaugural Eggsellence Awards.

Customers were asked to head to their local restaurant or café, take a snap of their favourite egg dish and share on Instagram or through the 2018 Australian Eggsellence Awards website.

Five dishes out of the hundreds of entries received were selected as finalists. The top five chefs were then put to the test, in front of our panel of celebrity chefs, to determine the winner of the Eggsellence Award.
