World Egg Day
Friday 12 October is World Egg Day! It's a great opportunity to remind Australians about the nutritious, delicious, affordable staple that is the egg and the creative ways it can be worked into every meal.
This year, Australian Eggs is celebrating World Egg Day in style, launching the inaugural Eggsellence Awards, a national campaign to uncover Australia’s best egg dish. The campaign asked Aussies to nominate the best egg dish from their favourite cafe or restaurant.
Hundreds of nominations were received and the top 5 will be announced in the lead up to World Egg Day. Chefs from the top 5 cafes and restaurants will then compete in a live cook-off in Sydney on 12 October in front of a panel of acclaimed judges.
Newly appointed Australian Eggs ambassador and celebrity chef, Manu Feildel, will head up the judging panel and festivities on the day. Click the icon to visit the Eggsellence Awards microsite.
World Egg day 2018 resources
Australian Eggs has developed bespoke egg recipes from around the world. As part of this recipe development, video and pictorial resources of the egg dishes have been created and these can be downloaded below.
