Smart Sheds are leading the way in environmental and sustainable egg production. These sheds, which are being adopted widely in the industry, allow producers to monitor hens closely and control the environmental conditions through monitoring feed and water consumption based on flock size and daily production, which improves hen welfare.

As the lowest carbon footprint producing industry among animal based proteins, the Australian egg industry is focused on further reducing its carbon footprint through continual improvement and environmentally responsible practices on-farm.

“Sustainability is about continuing to provide a good, food safe product for a nation for generations to come. We continue to improve so we can continue to supply.” – Jess Spencer, Poultry Welfare Manager, Days Eggs.
