What’s involved

Get Started

The beauty of this role is in the variety on offer.  Entry-level roles are required across all areas of the Egg Farm, including the rearing sheds (looking after the chicks), laying sheds (ensuring the hens are healthy and happy) and grading and packing floors (taking part in ensuring safe, high-quality eggs are prepared and packed for consumers).  You can expand your experience and have a go in all areas.

These roles are at the core of all egg farms and contribute to the success and growth of the business.  Duties may include handling, feeding and caring for hens and monitoring their behaviour, inspecting their environment, cleaning and servicing sheds, evaluating egg quality, assessing production requirements, stocktaking and replenishing packaging, operating tools and farm machinery, loading, unloading and delivering equipment and consumables.

At times the work can be dusty and physical, so it is important to understand and follow work health and safety requirements, which you will learn on the job.
