Automated video-based systems utilised computer vision and machine learning to identify individual bird behaviours that help determine whole flock movements and behaviours, while providing real-time information on the proportion of hens eating, drinking, laying eggs etc.

This information combined with flock records provided insights into bird health, welfare, and productivity. Based on the continuous and reliable data generated through artificial intelligence systems on farm, the project aims to deliver a combined flock welfare, production monitoring and early warning system for the industry.
