Through surveying producers, collecting faecal samples and examining spent hens, researchers will be able to determine the prevalence and significance of worm infection in free range layer flocks in Australia. As this has not previously been researched in Australia, researchers will also be developing better methods for diagnosing infection in the flock and assessing anthelminthic resistance within the national flock.

With the research generated, a web-based tool will be created to assist producers in diagnosing and managing worms.
